Keeping Track: Remember To Exercise. Or, The Other Way Around.

Active Junky tracked down a report, published online and now available in print, in CURRENT BIOLOGY.  Five researchers confirmed that aerobic exercise — performed four hours after learning — improved the ability to recall what was learned.  Surprisingly, working out right after learning had no effect on memory retention.  Testing was done 48 hours later in both cases, and Active Junky believes the scientists are on to something.  Timing appears to be crucial and we’re thinking more needs to be done to dial in the CrossFit-to-genius timetable more closely.  Until then, you’ve got something to contemplate.
