Patrol USA Gets Two Legs Up With Their New .32 Pants

A few years ago, Flylow founders turned a passion for winter sports – and frustration with a lack of durable clothing (think duct-taped Carhartts) -- into a brand that’s taken the mountains by storm.  Now enter Patrol USA, with brothers Howard and Austin Foote looking to do the same with pants that bridge the gap between active and urban.

Weaving their magic with a blend of heavy cotton canvas and Spandex, the 12.5oz fabric in their Kickstarter-campaign pants is unlike anything Active Junky testers have worn.  With more freedom of movement than work pants and a sense of flexible flow similar to climbing styles, the .32 Pants are anything but aloof runway fashion.  This, despite the well-earned trail-to-taproom look that comes from a double-fronted leg, hardcore pockets and solid stitching all around.

Since showing up in fall, 2015, Patrol USA has made the passionate pursuit of performance pants (say that three times fast) the focus. Tees, hats and other accessories carry the same sense of solid value along with the whimsy brought forward by the former cubicle rats who abandoned org charts for topo maps as confirmed powder hounds.

According to reviewers, they made the right call simply based upon first-blush exposure to the Model .32 Pants.  Waist sizes up to 40” mean the multi-sport, mountain life they promote is within range of nearly anyone.  Hike, paddle, fish, scramble, travel, and leave time for some artisanal spirits courtesy of a well-researched product now available via Kickstarter.  If there’s ever been a time to get in early and lay the groundwork for an “I remember when the brothers first appeared” story, this is it.
