Having been to Pavones, Costa Rica, Active Junky recognized this stony outcropping. From the palm trees, the Pacific vista is unmatched. To the north, surfers ply the slowly peeling waves of Pavones’ favored point break.

Between the patient roots of an overhanging tree and ever-shifting sands of the beach, we hang in a balance.

Sometimes in life, as with photography, comes a time to slow down the shutter speed.

When traveling, remind yourself to look up. You’ll occasionally be rewarded with a killer view. If not, you’ll at least straighten out the kinks earned by flying in economy seats.

Dive into aqueous adventure. The water temperature can startle, but in a good way.

Unexpected, unplanned moments can leave us breathless. Months later, a single moment from the road overshadows the original destination.
