Surfing a $20k Wave in Namibia

While the sensation of surfing a seemingly endless barrel may be priceless, you can put a price tag on the GoPro clips you come home with. 

Just ask Benji Brand, who won a whopping $20,000 from GoPro and Surfline’s “GoPro of the World III” contest. The contest seeks out the best GoPro clips in the surfing realm—and it looks like getting barreled for minutes on end in Namibia was enough to win Benji the grand prize. 

“I’ve never had that much money in my life,” he says at the end of the video, before admitting that he’s likely to blow it all returning to Skeleton Bay, his favorite break in the world. After watching the winning clip, can you blame him?
