Working Together: 24 Countries Agree to Marine Park in Antarctica

Individual countries often take measures to protect the oceans surrounding their shores. Now, for the first time, representatives from around the world have come together to protect international waters. As in, 1.5 million square kilometers in the Southern Ocean and areas of Antarctica’s land. Starting with the Ross Sea, Active Junky is pleased to hear this marina park is only the beginning of efforts to protect the Antarctic wildlife and ecosystem.
