Frequently Asked Questions
What is Active Junky?
Active Junky is a Cash Back site that puts money back in your pocket whenever you make a purchase at one of our 2000+ partner stores. All you have to do is create a free Active Junky account and click through one of our links before you shop. Then, when you do make a purchase, we will give you a percentage of the purchase price back via check, PayPal or Venmo.Let’s say you’re shopping for a ski jacket. You sign in to Active Junky and see that we’re offering 10% Cash Back at Patagonia. You click our Patagonia link, purchase a $500 ski jacket from Patagonia as you normally would, and we’ll send you $50 via check, PayPal or Venmo within 90 days.
Where does the Cash Back come from?
Active Junky makes money because we have advertising deals with all of our retailer and brand partners. When you sign in to Active Junky, click one of our links, and make a purchase at one of our partner stores, that store gives us a percentage of the sale as a commission. We then pocket a small slice of that commission and share the majority with you as Cash Back.
Why do I need to be an Active Junky member?
If you aren’t an Active Junky member, we can’t track your purchases at our partner stores. This means no commission for us, and no Cash Back for you.
How it Works

Has it been less than 24 hours since you made your purchase? Please note that it can take a full business day for partner stores to process your purchase and for your Cash Back to register in your Active Junky account. There are several additional reasons that you might not see Cash Back in your Active Junky account after making a purchase at one of our partner stores:- You tried to use multiple discounts from different websites before completing the purchase.
- You clicked a link from another coupon or cash back site that negated Active Junky's tracking.
- You spoke with the store’s customer service department and they took down your credit card information to make the purchase. This doesn't allow us to track your purchase since it was not made directly from an Active Junky link.
- You used Rewards Points, Gifts Cards, or other discounts that the retailer does not allow to be credited to affiliate sites.
- You clicked on a promotional email from another site.
- Your browser's ad blocker or Honey App was enabled. Please disable your ad blocker or Honey App prior to shopping on Active Junky.
If your order was credited to another publisher (Rakuten, Honey, Capital One), you can always cancel or return your order and start the process again through Active Junky to get Cash Back through us. Please note that not all items are eligible for Cash Back so if you did not receive Cash Back because it was a product and/or category exclusion, we are not able to offer Cash Back in that case. All exclusions are noted on our store pages, so be sure to read through those carefully before completing your purchase. If you have any questions before making a purchase, please don’t hesitate to contact us What should I do if it’s been a full business day and I still don’t see my Cash Back?
If you were signed in to Active Junky, clicked one of our links before making your purchase, and it’s been a full business day and you still do not see the purchase in your account dashboard, please contact us. Create an inquiry and fill out the form with your transaction information. Our stellar customer service team will track down your purchase and do our best to get you paid. What happens after I submit an inquiry?
Once we have your transaction information, we submit a claim to the retailer. The retailer has to both verify your purchase and make sure that it was tracked from an Active Junky link. Some retailers are quicker than others. On average, this process takes around 14 business days, so please bear with us. We appreciate your patience. If it’s been two weeks since you submitted a claim and you haven’t heard from us, go ahead and shoot us an email at support@activejunky.com. Be sure to reference the ticket number from your original inquiry. We will try to speed up the process. Can I use other coupon and/or cash back sites along with Active Junky?
No. To get Cash Back from us, you cannot use other coupons and/or cash back sites like RetailMeNot, Honey, Capital One Shopping, Rakuten, etc. The reason for this is that the retailer will only pay one of us for referring you. Some coupon codes are given exclusively to other publishers, so if those coupon codes are used it automatically assigns credit for your order to that partner. Commissions are generally given to Cash Back sites on a 'last click' basis, so whichever Cash Back site captures the last click prior to making your purchase (including clicks through browser extensions) will receive commission on your order.
How long does it take for my Cash Back to show up in my Active Junky account?
Our confirmation email generally shows up within an hour, but it takes some retailers a full business day to process the transaction.
How long after my purchase can I make a Cash Back inquiry?
The timeframe in which you can submit a Missed Cash Back inquiry can vary by advertiser. We will accept missed Cash Back inquiries for most partners up to 90 days after the date of purchase on your order, but some advertisers will only accept inquiries 30-60 days after your date of purchase. If the advertiser won't accept inquiries up to 90 days, that information will be noted in the Cash Back Guidelines section located on the retailer page. We are unable to submit inquiries to merchants after 90 days.

Pending Cash Back will be displayed in your 'Future Cash Back' payment. This Cash Back can be displayed as pending for a few different reasons, see below for details on specific scenarios.- Did you book travel? Travel sites confirm your purchase once you’ve completed your travel – and can take up to 6 months to communicate that information back to us. Once we receive payment from the advertiser on your booking, you will see the status flip to Approved, and that Cash Back will move into the 'Current Payout' total to be paid in the next payout cycle.
- Some retailers have a longer process of confirming Commissions. For those retailers, we pay out your Cash Back once the order has been confirmed by the retailer, and we are notified that the order can no longer be cancelled or reversed. There are very few retailers where this scenario comes into play, but if you do see your Cash Back listed in the 'Future Cash Back' payout with a status of 'Pending', your order(s) fall into this category.
What is the difference between Current Cash Back & Future Cash Back in my dashboard?
- Your Current Cash Back payout is the Cash Back you can expect to be paid in the next payout cycle. All Approved orders that were made within the Purchase Period will be displayed in this bucket.
- Your Future Cash Back payout is made up of orders that are (1) Placed during the next purchase period and (2) Pending orders waiting on confirmation from the advertisers.
