We chatted with Pistil’s marketing and branding guru, Forrest Jones, on why everyone can be a hat person.

FJ: We each came to live in the Columbia Gorge area for its scenic beauty, abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities, close proximity to the creative hive of Portland and the energy of the people here. It’s easier to be inspired to make beautiful, playful accessories when this environment surrounds you!
FJ: Well, it’s everything.
Especially with headwear, comfort and fit are key. If it does fit, you know it instantly. We size our women’s and men’s products with great care on a variety of head sizes. If it’s not high quality, it’s not worth doing. Your favorite hat has to last!
The Soho
The Soho wide brimmed hat is a great everyday option to keep the sun, rain, snow (or even a bad hair day) at bay. Forrest loves the felted wool and the detail of the rustic leather band that give Soho an effortless and cool vibe. It’s a look that feels current with a bit of old world charm.
Hats for People Who Aren’t Hat People
