Best Street-Ready Women’s Boot

These Ahnu boots are incredibly comfortable, with an Aegis antimicrobial-treated memory foam footbed cushioning your feet, while an internal steel shank provides lots of support. Decorative stitching and a mixture of waterproof, full-grain leather with water-resistant suede adds visual interest, especially on the heel and back of the boot. The rubber outsole has a cute floral pattern, and while it doesn’t have a rugged tread, these casual women’s boots still offers more than enough slip-resistance to keep you feeling sure-footed. 

A zipper down the interior ankle makes for easy off and on. Three interesting color schemes to choose from, (black, tan/olive green and the grey/red Twilight that we tested) means there’s sure to be a match to your personal style. Consider going up a half size if you tend to teeter on the edge of sizing.

Field Notes: These Ahnu women’s boots excelled in an urban environment, offering excellent support during long hours on our feet while still being stylish enough to pair with a dress and chambray shirt for a casual-chic night on the town. They don't provide a lot of warmth, but they repel water enough to perform well during the shoulder seasons. The traction is adequate for navigating slick surfaces, but is lacking enough tread to feel secure on rough terrain.

I knew it was going to be a long day on my feet, one where I would need to be ready to put out whatever fires popped up; indoors, outdoors, who knows! They not only looked great, but also offered solid support while doing everything from climbing ladders, to setting up stage rigging, to finding an outdoor socket buried behind shrubbery. My feet weren't nearly as fatigued as I expected them to be after putting on six miles in and around a single building!"
