Description

Electric drops the EG2 goggle to the market with the bold vision of creating increased vision. The oversized lens and undersized frame offer an unparalleled field of vision with far less peripheral obstruction from an encroaching frame than competitors. But even in creating a huge frame, Electric managed to engineer a frame with an ergonomic fit. Made with thermoplastic polyurethane, the EG2 frame is comfortable and durable yet offers flexibility complemented by a super-soft triple layer foam that is contoured to meet the face, comfortably creating a fit that offers all day wearability.

The helmet-compatible frame has silicone-lined, four-centimeter thick adjustable strap. The EG2 optics feature a dual-spherical polycarbonate lenses for optimally clarity and 100% UV protection. The lenses benefit from a hardened anti-scratch layer and are buffed with an anti-fog coating for reduced distortions and durability. Along the top of the lens, foam backed venting keeps the air moving to move moisture away from the interior lens and thwart fogging. Our tested model included the Brose lens, which combines a bronze tint with a rose tint to offer the best all-around lens available from Electric for any and varying light conditions. The Brose performed well by better defining contrasts in the snow pack and changing terrain. Additionally, Active Junky testers noticed improved depth perception while moving over terrain rapidly. Electric’s style-driven designs succeed on both the technical and fashion fronts, making the brand an obvious choice for those looking to bring their personal touch to mountains.

Pros: Massive field of vision

Cons: That “bug” look.

Tester Comments: “All you can handle in terms of the sheer style this goggle puts off. If you’re posting up at the High Camp Pool at Squaw or are regularly seen raking out the kickers in the park, this is the google for you.”
