Merrell All Out Terra Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Active Junky felt compelled to put this Merrell model in the mix.  As a contributor to advancing the minimalist off-road game, Terra Trail’s adopted – and adapted – the “shoe as shell” philosophy whereby omni-directional control is paramount.  The 10.5oz weight puts this model at the lower end of the spectrum thanks to vegan-friendly, mesh and TPU uppers.  Active Junky found the lacing system to be sufficient, relying upon TTs foot-conforming design to elevate fit including heel cupping (buy ½ size smaller). The shoe’s Vibram lugging fairs well in mud even though treads take 300yds of gravel to clear.  Important in this style is a removable footbed as regular air drying is essential. With this model, Merrell is, in kayaking parlance, more carefree play boat than serious downriver cruiser.
