Panelized for trim fit with plenty of arm movement, the jacket places venting hand pockets high enough to function with backpack waistbelts without creating a chipmunk look when filled. REI’s front yoke is striking, particularly in a bomber piece coming in well under $200. A one-pull adjustable hood is a tester favorite as hook-and-eye cuff adjustments are overdone nor is the waist toggle system overwrought. The Rose colorway tested struck a sweet balance between visibility, style and serious good looks.
