Best Ski Bib Pants

The Stio Environ Bib are a burly piece of outwear. Testers appreciated the monster zipper vents after long day hikes on sunny days and after big morning tours. The fit is comfortable and offered good knee joint articulation, though testers noted a few poofy spots, but none that affected the performance of these snowboard bibs. The Environ’s simple design also avoids extraneous straps and cords to fuss with or get in the way. While pockets could be a bit bigger, and there are no rear pockets, the kangaroo pouch and side pockets are large enough for gloves.

The toray Dermizax 50-denier 3L stretch polyester material is waterproof and breathable, rated 20,000/10,000, keeping testers’ legs dry especially with internal boot gaiters. These bib pants proved to be fairly windproof as well, all combining to keep you warm on cold mountains days and chilly lift rides. Stio’s relaxed fit provides room for freedom of movement and enough extra space to throw on a pair of long johns for colder days.

Other features that round out these ski and snowboard bibs include YKK water resistant Vislon zippers, double slider fly zipper, front snap closure, elastic back panel and adjustable elastic suspender straps.

Pro: The ventilation is excellent with long outseam zipper vents to adjust your temperature. These bib snow pants passed the dry-legs-on-powder-day test, and offered water and windproof comfort while being especially breathable.

Cons: While burly, testers questioned the durability of parts of the piece, such as how the boot cuff material would holdup through a season of spring cramponing.
