Yaktrax Run

Hybrid construction musters coiled metal on the heel and spikes on mid foot and toe. The result is solid tracking on off-camber ice without feeling like the device locks the foot into place; this prevents wrenched ankles and knees. The Yaktrax Run offered superior spike length without compromising gait (stride) length, rarely snagging snow or pants in recent Rocky Mountain test scenarios. With no need to shuffle to stay upright, this model suited a wide range of road and path conditions at meaningful (less-than-sprinting) speeds. The hook-and-eye forefoot strap was easy to grab and adjust with gloves on. Lightweight and packable, it stowed quickly without feeling flimsy.
