Yaktrax Extreme

A qualification is warranted here; this model received only preliminary AJ testing. Trusted for this evaluation was friend and renowned polar explorer, Eric Larsen, of Boulder, Colorado.  His cold weather exploits qualify him to rate Extreme as superior in cold and snowy environments.  While North Pole travel means diving in the tent as soon as camp is settled, South Pole temps allow more time outside after stopping skiing for the day. Adaption to thicker boots makes Extreme valuable as the two-step attachment eliminates straps and increases freedom.  Dual pads minimize snow build-up while gait modification is necessary but not excessive. A note of humor was hiding in the packaging; the warning sticker stated Extreme is “not for indoor use.”
