Description

The beloved NFX was just the beginning: Dragon’s improved upon that classic with the NFX2. Dragon’s Swiftlock lens changing system pairs perfectly with the frameless design of the NFX2—and yes, the NFX2 comes correct with a spare lens. For cylindrical lens lovers, this kit is as good as it gets before you tip into the spherical market. One thing that’s obvious as soon as you slide the NFX2 out of the box? Between the timeless Dragon logo on the strap, the frameless design, and the crispy clean cylindrical lens, the style is tough to beat.

Pros:

Dragon claims their Lumalens technology filters out unnecessary lightwaves and subsequently improve clarity, contrast, and color. That also claim that the NFX2 doesn’t lose the optical quality of their higher-end spherical lenses. Our testers had no qualms backing up these claims, as the NFX2 has some of the best optics of a cylindrical goggle that our testers have ever tried. In fact, some testers opted for the NFX2 over more expensive spherical models, namely due to the easy interchangeability system, the optical quality, and the style.

The lens has eight contact points that lock the lens to the frame, minimizing frustrating gaps so common with interchangeable lenses. Style-wise, the flat look of the NFX2 (born from the classic aesthetic of the NFX and its predecessors), speaks to both core park riders and function-first freeriders. Comfort is another killer aspect of the NFX2, as the face-forming, triple-layer foam with the microfleece lining combines with the overall frame for a super snug fit.

Cons:

The Swiftlock mechanism is easy. Almost too easy... Because the toggle mechanisms have such give, are on both sides of the frame, and protrudes so far off of the goggle, our testers accidentally unlocked the lens a time or two. That was the main complaint with regards to this system, which testers otherwise loved.

Tester Quote:

“As far as style goes, these are my favorite goggles on the market. I dig the look of the flat lens, and I honestly am not noticing a huge difference between the optical quality of these lenses versus Dragon’s spherical offerings.”
