Club Ride makes some of the best-looking, high-performing riding gear out there. We got our hands on some gear from Club Ride and put it to the test in the mountains surrounding Steamboat Springs, Colorado. From the trails to the town these pieces perform in a variety of situations, and always look good doing it.
Club Ride Helios Men’s Sun Shirt The Helios Sun Shirt has to be one of the most versatile shirts we have tested in recent years. From cycling to fishing, hiking, and so much more the Helios can be your companion on all of your summer adventures. The fabric of the Helios is the most unique we’ve ever seen on a sun shirt with the body of the shirt featuring tiny perforation to keep the air flowing through the shirt and keeping you cool. The arms and shoulders have a fully woven fabric to keep the sun off the most exposed part of your body. One of our favorite features is the zippered hand pockets, something we’ve never seen before on a sun shirt. These are convenient for stashing snacks and essentials while on a ride. Although the notion of wearing long sleeves on hot days is a bit counterintuitive; the Helios keeps the air moving thanks to the perforations and loose fit you’ll start reaching for the shirt for every hot sunny ride.
Club Ride Men’s Vibe Shirt OK, this shirt quickly became a fast favorite for our tester. From casual rides around town to long gravel rides that end at the brewery, and a quick mountain bike lap after work. You would find our tester in this shirt almost all the time. With great style and comfort, the Vibe is a fit for any occasion. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy that allows unrestricted movement and great airflow. Mesh venting underarms adds to the cooling properties of the shirt and keep your pits from getting too sweaty on the office commute. The hidden sunglasses wipe is always a welcome addition when the sweat starts to drip down on your sunnies. Next time you see us, we’ll probably be wearing this shirt.
Club Ride Joe Dirt Short Most of Club Ride’s offerings are designed with a ride-first mentality, pieces that are designed to be on the bike but won’t look out of place at the office or around town. The Joe Dirt shorts buck that trend a bit featuring more of a casual/workwear type of design that you’d pick for a day of hanging out before a big day in the saddle. That being said, the 4- Way stretch and gusseted crotch mean that the Joe Dirt is still at home on the bike. The buttoned phone pocket keeps your phone out of the way while pedaling yet secure enough to not worry about it falling out when you are taking the spicy route to the office or your next brewery stop. The thicker fabric of the Joe Dirt shorts means they will likely stand up to a lot of abuse whether you are camping, working on your bikes, or daily commuting. The fit is quite slim on these shorts so if you aren’t a fan of tighter-fitting shorts these might not be for you, but despite the tight fit the stretch provides plenty of movement so these do not feel restrictive at all.
Club Ride Men’s Hifi Short Pockets, pockets, and more pockets! The Hifi shorts have all the pockets you need for stashing essentials on your ride. From multi-tools and CO2 cartridges, everything has a home in the Hifi shorts so you can ditch the backpack or hip pack and set out on the trails free of cumbersome accessories and get into that flow-state that all bikers are looking for. The 13’ inseam gives you plenty of coverage on the bike even covering the tops of your knee pads to avoid the dreaded pad gap when the trails get rowdy. External velcro adjustment straps keep the shorts where you want them. Lightweight stretchy fabric is water and dirt-resistant keeping you drier while brushing up against the dew-covered bushes on those early morning rides. Whenever we suit up for a proper mountain bike ride we have been finding ourselves pulling on the Hifi Short time and time again.
Club Ride Women’s Sola Sun Shirt Like the Helios Sun Shirt, the Sola provides impeccable protection from the sun all while not being too hot to wear all day on long hot rides. Our tester loved the breathability of the Sola thanks to the perforated body fabric. The fit is tapered nicely to contour the body, yet still leaves plenty of room for movement and airflow. Stashing essentials is easy with the zippered hand pockets. If you are looking to stay cool, stay smart, and protect yourself from the sun the Sola is the shirt for you.
Club Ride Women’s Savvy Short The Savvy short is unlike any other mountain bike shorts we’ve tested, they are incredibly lightweight, thin, and stretchy making them ideal for those hot summer days. The drawstring helps you dial in the fit around the waist while the 11” inseam gives good coverage on the bike. Plenty of pockets including a zippered side pocket keeps valuables like your phone secure and out of the way while pedaling. Pair these shorts with one of Club Ride's Chamois and you''ll be ready for all day in the saddle. These shorts are at home on the bike, but not out of place hiking, or hanging out around town afterward. With a few different color options, don't be surprised if you end up with multiple pairs of the Savvy shorts.
Club Ride Men’s Go Long Shirt Lightweight long sleeves are incredibly versatile we find ourselves wearing the Go Long Shirt when the sun is blazing and also when the weather cools down a bit and you need just a little extra coverage from the wind or to break the chill of an early morning ride. The stretchy fabric keeps you moving freely while on the bike. Once again Club Ride comes through with a style that can go from trailside to an office chair or date night without missing a beat. We’re happy to narrow our closet down to more versatile shirts that can handle any occasion.
Club Ride Women's Gracie Long Sleeve Shirt If you are looking for a versatile summer long sleeve that can be used for anything from biking to backpacking the Gracie deserves your consideration. With a unique mosaic print, this shirt is sure to stand out. Keep the sun at bay with the long sleeves and pop that collar for some extra protection, or roll up the sleeves and grind out the vert in the trees. The quick snap closure makes it easy to add some extra venting and the underarm vents keep the pits breathing. The smartly placed sunglasses holder is a nice feature for stashing the sunnies when the sun dips behind a cloud. For the ladies looking for a casual-looking piece with technical fabrics that can perform look no further than the Gracie.
